Turmeric Latte aka "Golden Milk"

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp turmeric 
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon 
  • 1/2 tsp maca (optional)
  • 1/8 tsp cardamom 
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg 
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger (can use freshly grated ginger for a more potent flavor)
  • 2 oz hot water 
  • 6-8 oz milk of choice 
  • 2 tsp raw honey (bonus points if local!)

Directions

Step 1

Heat 2 oz of water until just before boil. Pour water into a mug and add turmeric, cinnamon, maca, cardamom, and nutmeg. Stir until fully dissolved. Let cool for 5 minutes then stir in honey

Step 2

Heat / froth 6-8 oz of milk (skip this step if you prefer your drink iced) 

Step 3

Pour milk into cup from step 1.

NOTES

  • For an easy substitute, swap the cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and nutmeg for 1 tsp of pumpkin spice (I like the brand Simply Organic)
  • If you don't have a steamer to froth milk, you can heat milk on stove
  • If using fresh ginger, heating ingredients from step 1 on stove, then adding milk, and allowing to sit on low for a 5-7 minutes works best
